
Upon trying to find a decent foundation to optimize my chip, I started playing around with the CO and decided to record everything on a spreadsheet for data purposes –> –> Here <–
Approach: I started by setting Per Core -10, one by one until BS. Upon BS I would relax the last Curve prompted with step by 2 (-10 to -8 and so on).
OCCT: With that base, I started testing with OCCT MC. Data set: Large, Mode: Extreme, Variable with AVX2.
Problem: With the error report, I would adjust the core curve by adding 2 (-10 to -8 and so on). Not only I spent like 8 hours doing so with no results, but doing the same test with CO disabled would still give me errors within 2 minutes of testing.
Question: Is my chip trash? Am I using a silly approach? I still have time to return this CPU and perhaps get a new one as I had this feeling from the beginning but I am not an expert and needed to hear from someone who knows his stuff! Not only I can't reach 5.3GHz (CO disabled = 5250MHz) but boost overdrive seems like a dream as well. BS no matter what settings I try :/
Question 2: I've read that contacts/pins with these AM5 can be tricky, I was very careful when I put the hardware together and it's not my first PC however it's my first LGA in a looong time. Can something like that impact performances in similar ways?
