My boss ordered a bunch of hard drives from an auction lot to refer and sell ranging from 6-8tb. But they don’t have the standard connected but only have this? What is this connector?

I may be wrong. But looks like the good ol “go fuck yourself”-proprietary connection

The connector between the hard drive and the PCB that’s supposed to be there.

    Those don’t have their PCBs.

On the bright side, all of your office will have shiny new coasters for years to come!

Should be able to get his money back for inaccurate description if they were listed as working

Makes you wonder how the auction listing was worded.

your boss might not be the lightest bulb in the room, or he/your company got scammed.

They’re missing the drive controller PCB. Those connectors interface the drive internationals ( spindle motor, armature actuator, magnetic heads) with the PCB.

You have only the drive the pcb is missing

I think your boss’s boss shouldn’t allow your boss to buy from auctions anymore, or ebay.

Yeah that’s trash. Hope they aren’t all like that. It’s SATA but missing a whole board, no you can’t just replace the board.

    Your boss is fucking stupid.
