Even as a kid, I've always wondered why they're hostile towards each other and if it's actually canon to the story.. considering they're both U.S. firms, they have no reason to be in an arms race.
And in 'Nuketown Zombies,' why don't the CIA wear any kind of protection, in a presumably highly radioactive area? Also never made sense to me.
Maybe I'm looking too deep into it, after all, when you knife the opposing team, butterflies come flying out..
