My desk was previously a bit of a complete disaster with my laptop on the table top, a large speaker, and just wires going everywhere. The mess would build up quickly and it just looked absolutely awful.
So I got this Logitech USB-C doc that also had a mic and speaker, and once I saw how much better my desk looked without a giant speaker and no mic arm I decided that I was going to keep going and try to free up as much desk space as possible.
Got a tray to hold the laptop, trays to hold cables, installed the charging hook that came with my headset, removed my deskpad (my bird was pooping on it constantly anyway, so it was constantly being taken off to clean), and installed 2 little drawers to store random stuff like keys, wallet, tools. The orb went to the back because there was finally space for that, and cables got managed to remove visual clutter.
