Why not change the lid settings to “do nothing” when closed on battery so you can close at least the other one at least if not just get a good monitor. I used to do that with a cooler underneath, laptop lid settings to do nothing as if it’s a desktop basically and run everything through it. If it is good enough, sometimes you forget you’re on a laptop. I even this it this week while my desktop was in the shop.
