The clearance varies case to case. Supports have adjustable height, but that’s not really possible to do with a finstack.
People have DIYd tower coolers onto GPUs in the past with great results though. If you’re thinking of doing it, just make sure you cool the other components aside from the GPU core as well.
A big brain move by the gpu manufacturers is just include a stand with the gpu. And a cool option would be an adjustable stand than folds down from the gpu

Unless you can get the finstack to be adjustable in height it simply wouldn’t work given everyone’s case is different in measurements.

This graphics card would never rise above 40C and I’m here for it, sign me up

Because there is no need for it. Most people don’t care that much about temperature.

I have a normal setup with air cooling, under heavy load my cpu reaches 60 C and my gpu 70 C. I think thats good enough. (i also have to clean my pc again which might reduce the temps even further)
Case dimensions vary. Motherboard designs also vary, some put the x16 slot as the topmost slot, others as the second. So unless you make legs of variable length, and I mean some serious wiggle room here, you wont get anywhere with that.
But as a cooler design itself I kinda dig it.

Because not all cases are the same lol 😛
My case doesn’t even have a “basement” for the PSU.

I hate everything in this image.

The only real solution is the AIO GPU. Lighter board. Better cooling.

Too much sense being made.
In reality, it’s mostly because some people actually do use the other slots available in their computer.

The forbidden 10 slot.
