Well, you could but I think the white add great contrast 🀷🏽

I honestly like the white with your style setup. Black would look good, but the white goes with the walls.

Don’t paint it. Just leave as is. Looks great.

I think the white desk with black equipment like you have looks better tbh. You could consider retexturing the top of the desk to make just that part black as well

No, the contrast is spot on, leave it or risk ruining what you have.

  6. It’s good as is. If you want to paint something black though you could do the wall with shelves..

I wouls say no. The desk makes your hardware pop.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I would say if you really wanted black to sell what you have and buy black. Even if you prep/ prime/ paint that type of material perfectly within a year or so you will not be happy with its condition.

Could you be so kind to tell me what keyboard that is?

  10. I’d personally have the draws black with white outline!

Nope, I doubt it’ll be done well and it’ll chip over time and look worn. Not to mention wear on it will slowly bring the white back through and make it look real shitty

No way! White makes that looks so much better and adds contrast! It’s looks sick btw

LOL and here I have the opposite, all white components and a black ikea desk – want to paint it white.

I feel like a black desk would unintentionally make it look cluttered

No the white creates contrast. A black desk will just look like the pc and peripherals are one with the desk

In my experience, painted surfaces on worktops just don’t wear well. I used to work for a company that sold turnkey edit suites and studio build-outs. One series of desks we carried for the edit suites had lovely mahogany wrist rests along the front, but the main worktops and shelves were painted with a super-hard-wearing textured surface.

They were super-expensive and looked beautiful for the first week or so, but even with the wrist rests and desk pads, the surface would never last. The manufacturer obviously knew this as they would supply a pot of touch-up paint from the same batch as the initial spray (that in reality was enough to blow over the whole desk a second time) with each desk, but even then you could tell where you’d attempted a repair and the whole thing just looked bedraggled and sad after a couple of months.

Either change the surface or stick with it. Do yourself a favour and avoid the paint!
