From weapons too rare to waste on any enemy to weapons that misbehave in your hands, this week’s Friday feature is about the weapons from games we’re too cowardly to equip. How many of them have you used?
If being afraid of a device designed to slay your enemies may sound silly, then you’ve clearly not wrestled with Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Unmaking Arrow – a powerful shot that comes at a huge, irreversible price. Others are older favourites: the peril of firing Military Grade Rounds in Metro 2033, or building up chaos in Dishonored 2 with any weapon use. Perhaps you were wrestling with Final Fantasy VII’s Cursed Ring way back on PS1. It comes at a terrible price.
