This is the true curse of good fans. You then have to replace the PSU because you can hear the coils.

Noctua coolers are sooo not worth it though. You can get close to a D15 with a Phantom Spirit, and thats a third of the price. And at the high end you can just get an AiO

What is coil whine at this point I’m afraid to ask

I actually had the opposite problem. The NF-P12s were giving me case hum, replaced them with some light wings, and then I heard the slight whine. Luckily, undervolting basically eliminated it, dead silent now.

I picked up a Powercolor Fighter 6700 xt and at full load that thing is super quiet, very happy

easy solution, join the pcmr coming from gaming laptops (out of genuine necessity) and then when you have a pc you’re so used to laptops that you dont need to invest in noctua fans because literally anything is better, that simple!

My computer whines when I scroll, but only with my basilisk x hyperspeed, no other mouse does it.

Yeah I had this same thing happen to my 3D printer, I got a new mainboard with silent stepper drivers, which made the stepper motors much quieter. After that the fans ofc seemed loud so I swapped those out for Noctua fans, now the stepper motors sound loud again 😛

Undervolt my friend. Had the same thing happen to me. Balled out on all noctua fans, 420mm rad for the CPU, EVGA hybrid kit for my 3080ti. And that was when I heard the coil whine. Undervolted the card, and now it consumes 80% of its stock power and has no coil whine. Just dead silence.

Just get tinitus, can’t hear the whine when your ears already make the same noise.

Still wild to me that this image is a painting

  12. Proper AIO and case fans leads me to get rid of hdd’s totally. Cause it was shhhhhhhhhh fucking loud!
