In some areas I think it’s better than the sequel.

I don’t think you need to specify “one of”. Or “pc”, or “in the 90s”.

Wow, those are beautiful. I really miss jewelcase boxes more than DVD ones. They are neat and boxy.

I was 15 years old when Half-Life released. I remember the day clearly as I went to work with my dad who was a window cleaner, and he paid me enough to buy the game. I even remember the street and windows we cleaned. Great personal memory for me and one of my all time favourite games.
LeviathansFatass
And one of the best remakes present day

Are they actually collectable or has no one thrown them out so loads still around?

At this point I am obliged to recommend the fan remake Black Mesa to you

I was in my early 20’s working at a Net/Gaming Cafe and the older dude there helped me pick out parts and build a PC. He was awesome and taught me a ton about PC’s, Windows NT and networking. I didn’t have a ton a of spare cash so it was a bit of a budget build, but that Celeron with a Voodoo 3000 was amazing to me at the time and got me into IT and networking. Anyways, this was the first game I played on it {core memory unlocked}

Didn’t even give a shit about half life at the time I just wanted to play TFC online!

And Gunman: Chronicles.

Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and Half-Life = the only times that video games truly and deeply surprised me.
I still get surprised by games all the time, but it was radically different with these games. It’s difficult to explain, but seeing them in motion for the first time was such a source of joy and wonder.

LOVED Half Life 2, crazy to think I was 3 years old banging Marlboro reds in a net cafe on this release

If I remember rightly that game is considered one of the best video games of all time, any platform
Coffeedemon
One of the best PC games ever.

This was a great Christmas for me. That night I stayed up all night playing this on our family’s new PC.

Ehh, it came out in 1998, which by then had some games that went beyond the “DOOM” style shooter.
