
I got a system set up for some time now (almost a year old), and I just recently did a light cleaning with dusting off the radiator (LFII 420) and all that, and is re-doing an OCCT burn test.
The test so far is doing good, but I am only getting 4.2 Ghz during the test, nothing like the 4.8 it was supposed to run at for all core loads, and looking at the limits it seems that I am hitting a thermal limit?
I guess the question is that, is it possibly due to the LFII gunk issue (I think there was a recall / fix it kit or w/e, never done it), or is it just OCCT power tests hammer it hard with everything and maybe AVX and that makes it have a lowered max clock?
IE, is it time to replace the cooler? It seems to suggest that the power use is in the 90w range and not the 120w as others have said?
And same question on the GPU, it should have an 1800 boost clock, and I do see in hwinfo that it did hit that at one point, but it is decidedly 1600 there abouts, and its a FTW3 Ultra hybrid (AIO one, not in a custom loop).
This is in a Core X9 case so both rads should have plenty of clean air to breath (they both exhaust top).
EDIT: maybe OCCT is doing something, I tried cinebench 2024 and it hit 4.8ish, and an expected 1065 MC score (stock at least), so maybe its normal?

4.2ghz is the all core clock and the maximum boost clock (single core) is upto 5ghz, better cooling would help you boost higher though.
Have you messed around with curve optimizer yet?
