Unrestricted access to a 1000w beast made me who I am today. My dad was a big computer guy and got it on an employee discount, even I thought it was too big. Ran XP like a champ though.

I wish I was around financially in the XP era

    It’s a beauty

What do you mean goodbye? I hope you are not implying that you are going to put it in the trash or in an e-waste bin. Please give it away to a gamer in need. Honestly just leave it near a tech shop on the sidewalk if nothing else, someone will grab it.

Looks like an XPS 700. There are a lot of salvageable parts there. I have an XPS 630 in my profile. It’s actually a very useable machine.

Before throwing that machine away, you might want to check its worth on EBay, etc. You might be pleasantly surprised to see what some of the parts there sell for.

Buddy…. Is that as big as your front door?????

Dell wanted 500 for a new motherboard…I had to throw mines out. Even the case couldn’t be saved since it had plugs for a custom board. I actually liked the big ass case.

Media center edition! That was a great remote control. And I loved that os as a couch system.

  7. his watch has ended ! now listen, you can make another kid’s dream and have the kid enjoy the first computer they’ll have. it’s a tradition. if you can, gift it to another child or to somebody who does not have a computer yet. you’ll get them introduced to computers, pc gaming and stuff.
    good luck and farewell !

That case is bad ass. I pulled one of those off the curb and plan to use it for a sleeper build at some point

Save the case, I have one I’m hanging on to, even though it’s a heavy burden to keep it around until I get time for it.

If you don’t want it, at least throw it up for sale locally someone does, more likely to be seen that way than trying to find the home by luck

Oh wow one of the XPS 700 series desktops! I’ve got an old 410 but I was not able to afford the 700 to the 710 at the time. I loved the case though.

I LOVE this case, i’ve tried searching for one, almost impossible getting one in decent condition and not at ridiculous prices.

Windows XP Media Center edition… man I miss having Hulu desktop integrated into WMC.. well and WMC in general.. I have to admit I don’t miss tuner cards that much as they always were fiddly pieces of junk however. But for years we would watch hulu/ netflix from the pc I had in the living room.

Speaking of old and heavy electronics, my friend had an enormous CRT in the early 2000s that I think was a few years old already that was at least 10,000 pounds. I wonder at its weight, because it was very difficult to pick up, even compared to other heavy old monitors and computers. I am guessing it was close to 100 pounds.

  18. That’s been one of my favorite PC cases of all time. That particular XPS case. I should eBay it at some point
