Ok say what you want about Xbox but the fact the Series X is compatible with 4 generations of Xbox is awesome

Cool! Curious if it’ll actually be done well, but if it is then it’s a major step forward.
It’d be awesome if this could influence other companies to do the same. Dream scenario would be an industry run organization like the ESRB, but focuses solely on preserving games.

That’s a good move. Backward compatibility is always welcome and Microsoft set a benchmark on how to do it with their Xbox consoles. They should continue the program.

probably dealing with the issues themselves with cloud gaming/game pass stuff, if their catalog didn’t self destruct it would be great.

As they push more towards digital over physical xbox needs a way to reassure customers with physical media. Smart delivery of previous generations of games has been a seeking point on the system. In many cases the best console experience of playing older games exists on Xbox – they need to retain that even if they don’t retain blue ray drives.
They should make Diablo playable offline
This must be contingency for when they dip out.

Cool thing about Xbox that I will give them over ps is that with dev mode I can play 200 hand picked ps1 and ps2 games. I play my ps5 more but use my series x for older games
Company don’t care about preserving games just about reselling over them again and keeping emulation away
They know what’s coming and are getting ahead of the curve. That and old games still make money.
