im trying to oc for max single core clock and am not sure how to go about it since its the first time im doing this. do i just test all cores for max stable clock and set the limits according? also im not sure what voltage to start with. stock on a msi z790 tomahawk it pulls 1.274 on cinebench r23 with spikes to 1.336. pc is used mainly for gaming but if i oc it im going for rock stable.
edit: i briefly looked at this guide to see if there is anything special about this config and he suggests starting with 1.35v no offset https://www.overclock.net/threads/quick-easy-msi-z690-z790-cpu-overclocking-guide-beginner-friendly.1802080/#replies

i just did a very brief test with following settings
1-2core max 56, 3-6core max 55, 7-8 core max 54, 1.35v adaptive + offset left at auto. cpu doesnt clock past 5,4ghz vcore max at 1.374
this looks like there is no point in doing this and i should just go for all core max oc?
