    As somebody who has been gaming since the 90s this is some amateur shit.

    If you lose, either it was lag or they were hacking. This applies even if it’s offline play in the same room together.

    Or they’re just tired of losing to people that have been playing these games for decades and they’ll never be able to beat.

    Ah yes it’s definitely that and not that fact that fighting games as a genre have an incredibly steep learning curve, often have limited onboarding for newbies and have mechanics that frequently allow more skilled players to completely shut down their opponents.
