It’s not a full reinstall, when applying the patch the launcher has to go through all of the game files and that’s what is displayed here. All of the files are already installed

That’s user error. I’ve never had that issue on Xbox. It’s always from someone or something interrupting the install.
idk lmao steam and battlenet don’t update their CODs like this except for the transition from MWII to MWIII era. I guess that’s why PS is given the chance to preload lmaooo

Its not reinstalling, its patching. For consoles its different cause the game is compressed differently. They added a bunch of changes and in order for those changes to work all the files need to be verified and gone through. A patch will be noticeably fast to install then downloading and installing the game from scratch. Also download times are limited by internet speed. Install and patch times are limited by hardware like your hard drive or ssd.
Has happened to me the past 3 updates. I’m at work now and am 100% expecting it to be the same situation when I get home later. Anyone know what causes this?

Yep, first time I’ve to do a full install, originally said 10gbs then hung so I attempted to play and reforce the update, boom wiped from drive so full install, lucky I’m going to work so I’ll just leave it chug away.
Mine was 28 GBs and took like 12 minutes hard wired in. Not sure why yours is so large but who knows, company is trash so whatever
