Saw this on Instagram and airflow usually confuses me so I have to ask reddits opinion on the matter

Airflow issues as in? It’s a little silly and definitely a form over function type thing and isn’t going to be the most efficient thing in the world, but what issues do you think it would have? Air comes in, and seeing as there is no side panel installed in the picture, air goes out quite easily

I’m no aerodynamicist and I doubt many people here are, but if you just put the bottom half on intake and the top half on exhaust, I doubt you’ll have any issues.

First impression, the top four fans should be blowing upwards.

I see you’ve gone for the singularity airflow

  5. Fan orientation seems wacky but brother its watercooled. Which component you actualy think it’s gonna affect?

As long as there is fresh air for VRMs and RAM (if it’s manually OCed and overvolted) and the GPU can exhaust its hot air without doing it over said components all is fine here. Still, I would do a different fan orientation, but nothing of grave concern here.

Might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen im nearing 40 now so who knows

The epidomy of just get a case and stop being artsy.

The heck is this? Are you trying to make some kind of portal or something? Lmao

If the bottom five are intake and top four are exhaust. It’ll definitely have better airflow than most PC cases.

No but it has dust issues because of the moving air. Remove the fans and you get very little dust.

It shoud be fine with a box fan on the side.

Regardless of what direction any of them are pointing you’ll have a turbulent mess of airflow it seems like.

What in the MRI machine did you create?!!

  14. I did a mechanical engineering degree, which involved some fluid dynamics modules. Honestly everyone puts way too much thought into airflow on PCs. The fans aren’t powerful enough to affect each other very much and they’re too powerful to have much of an issue with the minimal amount of convection (rising heat)

This PC will be totally fine. The only thing to check is that there’s enough fans on intake that they can actually blow air over the components without it getting sucked away and leaving the air in the middle stagnant. That pretty much just means having an intake side and an exhaust side. Even then it’s kind of overkill because we’re talking about a similar difference to having a hot coffee in windy weather or calm weather when it comes to relative temperatures and rates of cooling. Sure it’ll go cold quicker in the wind but that’s not gonna stop you from having a hot coffee

  15. Missed opportuinty to not also have one giant fan for a side panel.

Plot twist: The circular a airflow create a vortex that keeps a pocket of stagnant air near the GPU, that overheats /s
