For a second I thought that said it had 16GB of DDR3 memory lol.

  2. Jumpaxa432

Depends on the parts. I keep my old graphics cards on display. The rest is waste

  3. rifr9543

I put them on my old-PC-parts-shelf. Especially old high end graphics cards.

Usually I sell semi-old stuff that I don’t want to keep, and some get reused in my home server or a family member’s system. Really old crap goes to recycling though, there’s just no need today for 512MB DDR2 sticks and budget LGA 478 boards etc

  4. toaster98

Old parts get shelf duty. All they need to do is look pretty.

  5. YoureGettingTheBelt

Hoard them until they become retro and cool again. Haha.

I’ve also built a few junk PCs out of spare parts. To be used as media centers, garage PCs, that sort of thing.

  6. Big-Soft7432

Sell them for cheap, donate them if I can’t do the previous, paper weight if it’s actually obsolete.

  7. Gzawonkhumu

I build second-hand gaming PC that I give/sell to my relatives. It allows them to play oldies but goodies in very decent conditions.

  8. Lostdotfish

Sell them before they’re worth nothing or keep them till they’re worth a fortune …

  9. CuteDaisyPinkDress

I say ‘happy birthday’ and give them socks.

  10. I keep an old XP-era PC and load it up with nostalgic games, swap the hardware out from time to time.

There’s something nice about playing those games on the hardware they originally launched with, the same way people like to play games on old consoles rather than exclusively emulating or playing newer versions.

  11. EmptyBrainOS

Use them on my server, pass it down to my brothers or sell it.

  12. Serberou5

I keep using them. My current gaming rig is an X5690.

  13. OstensibleBS

Depends if they work, I could always use another layer of network security

  14. Sandwic_H

Did not know that XFX was making Nvidia GPUs

  15. itsCibii

Got a 5700xt with a broken PCB along with a B450 MSI mobo hanging in my game room along with a few Corsair headsets. They’re relics but they do all still work besides the graphics card.

  16. If they’ve got good artwork (which this does) I donate them to art projects at my local college/uni/youth hub .

  17. I saw a couple of pics where they would teardown the parts, labeling each part and make a portrait with them. It was super cool

  18. desertrijst

Keep it all for troubleshooting purposes or in the rare cases someone needs a specific part.
If I upgrade my GPU I give my old one to my brother and take his old one with me in case I need it for troubleshooting.

  19. aresquinn31

It came from China lmao there’s Sum-Ting-Wong with it

  20. Parking_Cress_5105

I sell them before they are obsolete and ride the wave of continuous upgrade.

  21. MyPokemonRedName

If you can find a very broke friend or somebody’s kid that might enjoy having ANY PC for free, that’d be a good idea.

  22. Yes-and-no_

Add them to my robot whose sole purpose is to serve butter

  23. If they are nice looking, on a shelf, otherwise I keep them in a box. I can’t throw them away.

  24. confident___

Put em on display cause they look cool

  25. hackyshacky

Make a nice windows XP gaming pc and enjoy gta vice city, igi, etc

  26. UnethicalFood

I had that same card on my shelf until a few months ago as an emergency backup / test unit.
Move my office an decided to finally let that one go. It was a good card.

Also, old? Kid, you should have seen my backup / test unit cards before that one. It was far from the firrst to hit the bin.

  27. mincemuncher

My GTX 660 is wasting away in my closet.

  28. Disastrous-Rips

Donate or sell online. What else can you do?

  29. Velereon_

It depends most of I just throw away, but I had a motherboard that lasted me 12 years and it was with me through like all the hardest stuff of my life so far, so I framed it and the ati that I was using.

I almost died a couple of times, or three times I guess, I was in the hospital all the time, I had the same computer like a few years after all of that when my cats died, when I like got into hard drugs because I was getting off prescription opiates and yeah that’s kind of how it goes, dropping out of school because I was realizing it wasn’t something I wanted to do it was like everything like complicated and hard in my life I had this computer and I spent most of my time on it because I was already a gamer anyway and then I became disabled so I became like a very devoted gamer.

so like I’m not insane I didn’t know that the computer was not alive but it felt wrong to throw it out 😵 I guess I kind of like Egyptian styled it because I just have its brain.

  30. Turn them into retro arcade machines or modern is ones in the basement

  31. Impossible-Bug7623

well install linux and bam you have working pc. you can play games from that era. But pcs have limitation. They simply die. if chip dies its the end than you can sell it for spares to fix other cards. There is people who collect them. ewventualy all of them will die, it chip is dead its ewaste. Anyway theyt look sick animations are dope on them.

  32. Chrunchyhobo

Either put them on a shelf to look nice or stick em on eBay so us collectors can buy them.

  33. demaurice

I usually offer them free for pickup online if anyone wants them. If nobody responds after a few weeks I throw them away
