After killing the scavs I go look for him and he has the nerve to ask why when I pull out my weapon (and threaten him with dialogue?) That’s the final straw for me.
My friend, not only did you not give me a BD which I paid for, you set me up to be chopped up by scavs. Who knows how many other people he got killed in the same way?

The wiki said the side quest is actually good. But I didn’t care.
Honestly the first time i just refused out of the bat because of course it had “bait” written all over it, but i eventually went along because i wanted to experience the quest associated with it, but yeah, when Johnny scolds you after you wake up he’s 1000% right.
