So, this pc was built for me by my grandfather, and he was kinda psycho, he liked to put gps trackers and other bad things in my grandmas stuff, and I wonder if this is something bad too, before I broke it ( accidentally) it was round and purple, i tried to pull it out using pliers but it was completely stuck. Help

Ummmm. Pliers and uh rip it out harder? I think at this point you have bigger issues than something stuck in a USB port

Could be wireless dongle for headset/mouse/keyboard/wifi

    Or FBI tracking device.

The fact that the case is rusted leaves me to believe this was just a USB stick, and something rusted it in.

    Just use pliers and pull.

Ignore all these other comments they are wrong. DO NOT RIP THAT OUT

That’s a Bluetooth antenna. Some motherboards have it located on the rear IO like that if the board has Bluetooth but not wifi. There is no USB port there. It is not removeable without breaking it.

Built in Bluetooth receiver, look at the icon next to it.

  6. Most likely just a USB flash drive or some form of Wifi/bluetooth/keyboard+mouse dongle.

If your grandfather was as weird as you say, it *could* have been a keylogger, but this is the very bottom of the “probable” list. Especially if it didn’t have any kind of passthrough USB before it broke.

It has the Bluetooth symbol right next to it. It was a Bluetooth receiver you just broke now.

I love how you mentioned your grandpa is a psycho and half the comments tell you to destroy (including you on your own) a neat feature of an old board – Bluetooth šŸ˜€

I’m sure the reason for the trackers were for something you will dread when you learn about it (or he is control freak, idk)

  9. lmao that thing is welded on there from the factory

    Insert “Unknown Technology” meme here.

Not to be ” that guy,” but the port is legit labled with a Bluetooth symbol šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø this means that it is not a usb port, and it is infact a Bluetooth receiver.

That’s not a usb port, there’s clearly a Bluetooth symbol right beside it. Don’t pull that out, unless you don’t want Bluetooth by all means.

It looks like something snapped off and before that (or after) got melted. GL!

You’re right i mean who still uses eSATA

This is a FANTASTIC bait, I can’t stress enough how good this is!

  16. NewPhoneNewAccount2

Are we just going to ignore that fan port? Do you have like a spray bottle of salt water you clean it with?

  17. Yeah, that’s a bluetooth antenna.

    Just rip it out.
