Wait, how did a microwave somehow fall on a laptop?
spaglemon_bolegnese
I doubt your warranty will cover accidental damage. Think of it as more airflow
Prodigy_of_Bobo
Make sure to bash it with a hammer a few times before you give it to them though
Significant-Mud-506
Do you guys think it will fuck up the laptop even more? I just bought this a few months ago 🙁
Ttr0pic
Any issues it could have more than likely would have already arisen. Only thing I would potentially look into is battery placement on that unit and make sure to keep watch for swelling so the sharp edge pointing down doesn’t puncture it. But if a warranty covers it I would replace it.

They won’t accept the warranty claim unless you can somehow convince them that damage occurred naturally on it’s own
aditya2022raj
just buy a sticker and put it on that i guess .
ShridharGsr
Warrenty doesn’t cover physical damage
Realistic-mace
Ouch
Laithmusa
Slap a sticker on it and call it a day

Warranty is no place for accidental damage. If you have home insurance it might cover it. That been said if it was my laptop I would open it and make sure battery didn’t get dent on it. Otherwise its good to go, just superficial damage since its working.
smithversman
In my country, lenovo laptop has ADP warranty that covers any accidental damage to your laptop. Idk if a microwave fell on your laptop is covered by that lmao.
HolyErr0r
Where did you get your laptop? If it is a Bestbuy warranty then you can try and do that since best buy warranties cover accidental damage. (Do make sure to back up your stuff to an external first(
Fast-Background-1710
I know I am not familiar with your laptop, but good thing it did not started smoking since that is where the battery is roughly located (could be lower). If the microwave fell any harder or any lower, it could have punctured the battery.
McFlyFTW
What does the microwave look like?
YellowFogLights
Warranty won’t cover that.
If you have the ability you could pop the bottom cover off and inspect the battery and any other components for damage to get some peace of mind.
I’d then straighten out the damage and slap a sticker over it to seal it up.

What a random item to fall on a laptop🤣
Delicious-Chemist-49
that is a scentence i never anticipated seeing in my entire life congratulations, and RIP at the same time

Yes, have Lenovo come out and replace the shell. They have a great warranty on their legions
Mastergawd
Wow that’s interesting. I don’t think warranty covers accidental damage but you could try.
I mean in the world of IT, if it works, it works. Someone in the comments said a sticker might be good. I think that might be the best play honestly
WeAreSynthfusion
Do you really think warranty would cover up that shit? Seriously?
EhtReklim
Unless you paid for some extra warranty i can guarantee that wont be covered
TONKAHANAH
do you have warranty or insurance? usually warranty covers things like the device failing in some way but doesnt cover accidental damages you cause. insurance typically would. suppose if you have a third party warranty that includes accidental damage coverage then you could.
idk, if its still working I’d say keep going with it and maybe process the warranty just before that expries.

Warranties don’t cover physical damage

Put like a sticker on it, like a Christ has Ryzen sticker idk

‘Hello, can you briefly describe the incident for this claim?’
‘oh yea, my microwave hell on my laptop kek’
‘no.’

Why do more and more people think warranty will fix damage they have done?
TotallyNotDad
I’m going to be honest, the warrantee is not going to cover this dude, warrantees are for manufacture issues like GPU dying or SSD not reading, something along those lines not a….*checks notes* microwave falling on it.
DayneTreader
A warranty won’t fix that. A protection plan, however, will.

How would this be covered by warranty again? 🤣
