It’s simple at the core, something that realistically makes the game mode the most fun. It has some good training areas, like the stage. It is aesthetically proper for the horror feeling zombies portrayed in the early days. It’s got a solid method for unlocking PaP, although not as hard as other maps, it works as a release map for less die-hard fans who may be playing the game mode for the first time, as it’s only the second release with zombies.
I’d like to hear your argument for why it’s overrated.
My biggest hot take:MOON sucks. Astronaut Zombie,teleporting Nova Crawlers,low-gravity,Jug and Speed being confined to No Man’s Land, and finally the BO1 version looks like ass. The BO3 version is better but still Mid. I wish they just went with the Paris idea.
nah man, kino is a pretty good map imo. it’s not too hard yet not too easy and the whole theme and atmosphere is really cool and feels badass when ur fighting off hoards zombies with ur homie or a random group of people online and u guys all got pack-a punched LMGs
Der riese flows so much better, more fun wonder weapon, no nova crawlers to make the rounds last 2x as long, better 4 player co op where you have to work together
I don’t think you understand why people like the map 🤦 its a medium to light-difficulty map that you can pretty much jump in and play whenever you want without worrying about any sort of set up.
Same thing with certain custom maps like Stairway to hell. People like stairway to hell because it’s easy and fun

Well for me I classify the older zombies maps that had little to no main Easter Egg Quest as purely survival maps, and I enjoy those a lot when I just wanna chill, listen to something, and go for a high round, Kino is my favorite for that type of gameplay, with BO2 Town being a second due to how quick and easy the map is for just pursuing high rounds tied with Der Riese, but overwall I wouldn’t say it’s the best map, there are obviously better maps that have more to offer, SOE, MOB, Origins, and DE being the pinnacle of Zombies maps imho. But Kino, Ascension, and Der Riese are probably the pinnacle of Survival maps for a lot of people.
