There’s a fan with a dust cover on top and he keeps getting back on it, would cat hair damage anything?

Probably not, but most likely it will damage you if you try to remove the cat.

(I guess that, if the PC really heats up to a point where it could be dangerous the cat would go away)

No, my cats sit on mine all the time. Never had any issues overheating or with dust. I clean my pc regularly, though. 4 cats and that’s one of their favorite spots.

Next post “Best way to clean cat urine from my pc?”

Jk. Im sure my cat will keep using the litter box but I wouldn’t risk her sitting on my pc. They usually don’t pee where they enjoy hanging out but I’d definitely position something on top that kept her off while not blocking any vents if I saw her doing this

Yes if you let him keep doing this eventually your PC will explode or your car might become addicted to gaming

  5. Fallwalking

You need the cat to greet all the cats in Night City.

it isn’t really going to hurt anything, you may end up with a bit of cat hair inside the pc (you probably were going to anyway.)

Cats love warm places and Tall places, that pc is up high and is warm, cat is going to want to sit on it. You may be able to set up an alternate more attractive spot for the cat (high , warm cat bed on shelf on wall w/ a way up to it).

You know its time to move the cat whsn the overheat protection kicks in or when it starts throtteling.

Most likely you’ll need to clear dust more often but that effect already kicks in when you have pets living in the house.

Does your cat have any issues with leakage?

  9. csgo619yo

Yes, it will help you to damage your opponents in online games.

If you don’t have another cat in the house, the worst that can happen is the same as your computer having shit cooling.

If you have another cat in the house, hope they don’t fight for territory. Cats piss to mark their territory and they will gleefully piss into the PC and kill it if it means the other cat won’t be able to enjoy it.

It doesn’t damage the pc but make sure you are cleaning it more than usual

  12. Elchen_Warmage

Should be fine. Mine has lived atop my pc for a few years now already.

  13. Wileyfranks

It could at the computer ship i internship for we have had multiple people have there cats sit and sleep on there pc and then urinate that will damage it but other than that clesn you pc out more thats about it

  14. Express_Ad2962

    That’s not a pc, that’s a heated cat bed.

  15. Won’t hurt it. You’ll have to clean it more often though

  16. CriplingD3pression

Probably not but even with a dust filter, you’ll still be getting a BUNCH of cat hair and dandruff

  17. TheLordLongshaft

    Nice case, also yes

It might be made of warm but it is not for sits!

  18. X3N04L13N

As long as he/she doesn’t piss or shit on it, you are fine

  19. Beautiful cat! What kind is it? I would like a cat… hmm

  20. aTacoThatGames

You might have to dust it a little more often but it will not damage anything.. assuming it doesn’t pee on your pc🥹

  21. Sociolinguisticians

It might, idk what your cat’s plotting.

  22. CancerousGTFO

I want someone to do a stress test when the cat is on the PC and one again when the cat isn’t, just to see the temp diff

  23. That_Cripple

no it wont cause any damage, but you will need to clean it more often than you otherwise would.

  24. TheStreetCatYT

I wouldn’t let mine cus I don’t want fur in my pc. There is fur in my pc anyways

  25. holger_svensson

Fans can get clogged with fur and I have seen (on reddit) a couple of dead computers by cat pee…

  26. BChicken420

Top fans get switched to intake for winter and axhaust for summer, it either works or you just end up chilling the cat in winter and heating it up in summer

  27. TheWhitePolarBear1

Yes. The cat will eventually start chewing cables.

  28. upreality

Please don’t remove the cat or your warranty will be voided, thank you.

  29. NXTREADY

My dogs come in and greet my pc with a kiss like they do to humans/eachother, the heat and cool noises it produces makes them think its alive (and maybe my girlfriend)

  30. My cats do the same, they love warm. I don’t think it’s dangerous because you still have back exhaust and on the cat doesn’t cover the whole top but for sure, the temp will maybe increase a bit :p

WATCH OUT!!! IF YOU DO THIS YOUR CAT WILL EXPLODE!!!!!! AND PRODUCE A NUCLEAR FUSION USING YOUR PSU AS A CORE POWER SUPPLY DESTROYING ALL OF THE UNIVERSE!!!

  32. aaron_adams

The hair won’t hurt it, but the cat sitting on top of your computer can restrict air flow and cause heating issues.
