I have recently completed my first build since my 4th generation I-5 lol Needless to say I'm pretty wet behind the ears and rusty. Apparently running an I-9 4900K on a MSI z790 tomahawk Wi-Fi Max motherboard. I have a 360 AIO cooler. DDR5 6000 RAM. I'm pretty much using default settings right now. My base power is 253 watts. I've tried to push it to 288 watts but do get 94 to 100° c temperatures when benchmarking at that wattage. If I stick to the 253 Watts I'm around 80° give or take but with a score of 36K multi-core. I'm out positive but it seems like I'm hitting some sort of voltage or power limits. None of my P- cores move off of 5 GHz throughout the benchmark.

I'm not familiar with the MSI motherboard BIOS and what my ideal settings should be. Also I've bounced back and forth between balanced and extreme performance in the Windows power plan. The only difference that seems to make is my idle speed is higher it doesn't change the temperature or the benchmarks. I'm not sure if it's best to have balanced and boost when the workload is needed or to keep it on extreme performance. Either way the real problem lies within some sort of power bottleneck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
