Thinking about getting this off a friend to start as a base for gaming with upgrading over time. Is this a good base to start with? I play mw3 and eafc mostly. Thank you
Hello EstablishmentDry6329, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Depends on the price…

The 3050 is not a great video card. It will be a start for you but you’ll want to upgrade that for mw3
NightmareRivals
No, it’s not terrible by any means, but it depends on the price. Realistically, if you’re spending more than $800 for a computer like that I would look elsewhere
DivineJerziboss
It’s not bad depending on the asking price.
One thing that you should check if you buy it is that you have active DOCP(XMP) in bios because the RAM is running only at 2660MHz so your ram might not be running at full speed or you friend cheaped out on fast ram which is a shame because Ryzen CPU benefit greatly from fast RAM.
But for 500-650$ this could be solid machine that you could still upgrade with better CPU, RAM or GPU.

Depending on price. I wouldn’t drop more than $500 on that. I think what will happen is about 6 months in to using it, you will be eager to upgrade, not necessarily out of necessity, but a desire to run your favorite games at the highest possible performance.
Mikeyymyerss
Don’t over pay for this ideally you want better cpu gpu and ram. Will it run the games you want to play, probably but 3050 is a low tier card and won’t be able to handle very demanding games well
ArkieFPS
if it cost more than $700 i would not purchase it, if it costs like $500 or less it may be a decent deal. other than that there are much better pcs on the market depending on your budget
Neuromasmejiria
Only if the price is right. Anything is a good starter PC for the right price.
