I had a Ryzen 7 1700 and an RX 5700xt just sitting in my office, so I thought I could put those to good use and build my nephew a proper PC and get him off of a really old laptop. He did a lot of the build himself and everything went well, booted up on the first try. PC runs Minecraft really well, and that's pretty much all he cares about.

I’m looking to upgrade the ancient PC my nephew uses for Minecraft, which has an FX 8310 and a 7870 and was considering a 5700 XT because they’re great for the price but I want something that can run ray tracing.

I wanted to do the same thing with my nephew (he’s 7), but i figured he wouldn’t cope with the difficulty level and the patience required so i built it for him and had it delivered as Christmas gift. Wondering if i should’ve done the same
