I actually don’t understand that scene or completely missed being captured (?) At what point was I not able to just walk out? Whyd I need Brick to allow that to happen?

Not really related, but worth pointing out:
Brick saw what V (and Jackie) can do. He knows a fight would end badly. He’d have to be stupid to actively provoke V.
Patricia wasn’t at All Foods. She doesn’t know just how dangerous V is.
