Metal Gear Solid collection was a big regret

  3. theluckypunk

Just waiting on those dark forces ports

  4. Black_Mammoth

Seriously, how do you manage to fuck up a 20-year-old game that already had a rerelease on fucking Steam?

  5. Pipe_Memes

I’m psyched for the rerereremaster of a game I grew tired of decades ago.

Leave it to nightdive and capcom to show em how its done

Lucky for me I wouldn’t know while I’m out here burning Erdtress and managing democracy.

I’m honestly surprised that Dead Space turned out so well. An exception to the rule I guess (yes I realize it was technically a remake not a port)

Here’s the thing though, if there was an Ocarina of Time remake in the Breath of the Wild engine with some things modified like an unbreakable sword for example Nintendo would sell a million copies in 5 mins

  10. Stewman_Magoo

Don’t forget being a live service with 5 different DLC packs at launch.

    Battlefront 2 port
    A game from 2005 ruined in 2024
    Nice!

  12. I will probably still pick GTA trilogy over Monopoly Go any day.

  13. Well, the Quake 1 and 2 remasters were actually great. Seems we need to look in proper places

Il still take half asssd old ports over most new games. Atleast those old games had good gamplay and usually get fixed in patches.

  15. SadLaser

Nah. People want good ports and new games. No one is saying no to new games and no one is asking for bad ports.

Loving my new playthrough of chrono cross!

Reminder that we’re currently living in the golden age of indie games

If people werent open to buying it, they wouldnt be doing it.
They are simply tapping in to people’s nostalgia for these games and they are letting them.

The unspoken casualty here is that we’re getting a lot less side games than we used.

Before remakes got popular, developers would just have small teams working on lower budget games to sell in-between their blockbuster titles. Now, a lot of those same side-title teams are being put to work making cheap remakes and remasters because investors see those as cheaper and safer.

You’d think the success for Dead Space, RE4 and Systemshock would motivate companies to do the same.

Currently playing Half-Life… not the Remake “Black Mesa”(is a good remake), the OG game from the 90s.

Pass on games like Battlefield 2042 that are dumpster fires to play old games because they are better.

All new games are worse than any game from the 2000-2015. Like how is it 2024 and the peak of sports game was like 2013

What a bulls*** last year was amazing in gaming and when I look at games like FFVII Rebirth, Helldivers, Dragons Dogma, Yakuza 8, Grenblue Fantasy, Prince of Persia and upcoming games like AC Red, Stalker, Hellblade, Metaphor… It’s another win for gaming industry.

I’ve recently been playing Pokemon omega ruby, on an emulator on pc, with a randomizer hack, so every encounter is a random pokemon. Not super lore accurate, when team magma hits me with a kyogre. However it is definitely super fun, getting to play a childhood game, in a new manner.
