I bought this colorful igame rtx 4070 super ultra. When plugging the connector it seems to not be all the way in. I tried tesing it like this and had no issues except when putting the gpu on full load(220w+), i hear a buzzing sound on my speaker and on the gpu.
I'm physically trying to push it all the way in but to no avail.

Try to wiggle it left and right while pushing, that helps.

If there is really no way to fully plug it in and it is not because you are unable to use enough force rma it and don’t fucking turn it on like this.
My biggest deterrent from going with nvidia is definitely this ridiculous connector. Hope you’re able to get it plugged in all the way without damaging the port connections on the PCB.
This is the exact reason why so many gpus with this shit connector were burning up before that big investigation GN did about it. I’d suggest to try and buy a 90 degrees adapter from cablemod (they had issues with them in the past but they recently recalled defective units and started shipping out/replace the right ones) and see if you can plug that in and then your cable in it. If not might be a faulty cable (too short?).
Also taking out the card and doing it while being uplugged from the pci ex slot might be beneficial as you’d be able to use more force against it without risking to break the pci ex lane or the pins in it. Imo the real issue here is that you’re trying to put the cable with the card in the slot, and you cannot produce enough force. Having one of you hand rest on the back of the card while pushing the cable in might do it.
I couldnt get the pcie in the 12vhp connector before i had to wiggle it to get them in which had never happend to me before

Then get a new cable. It looks like this one was the incorrect size and got through QC without being caught.
And this could have been a PCI-e cable just as easily, it has nothing to do with 12VHPWR, it’s just a manufacturing error that slipped through.
If it happens to not be the cable, then it’s the card.
It’s always hard to get it all the way in the first time, just keep pushing until it clicks.
Yet another problem with novideos new power port. To bad there was nothing wrong with the old power connector. Good luck with your melt down.

Just installed my 4080 Super last month. First time I had to describe connecting a cable as a “herculean effort”.
Saw this a couple of times. Manufacturing defects or too tight tolerances for some reason. Terrible connector design that should never have made it to production. RMA.
I was one of the poor chumps who bought a cablemod right angle adapter, and upon seeing the recall, I immediately went to removing it from my 4090.
i felt like i was defusing a bomb, it was so difficult to unplug it but i managed to do so without damaging the connector.
it’s a shame, the 4090 is so big and expensive, choosing such a flimsy connector is a huge oversight on Nvidia’s end.
What do they care though? they’re the third most valuable company on the planet.
I’ve been team Red for well over 15 years now & them being logical still using what works vs this crap is why I’ll stay Team Red!

I just changed my psu and fuck me was the graphics card the most annoying bit to connect. It works fine but it does take a bit of push. If it feels wrong return that motherfucker

Try looking for the same cable connector on your PSU’s box. I had the same issue a while ago with my 4070ti Super, the adapter would not go in no matter what. But it turned out that my PSU had a 12vhp connector that went in without any issues.
Push until it clicks, done.
Rock it in or try a different cable.

Use a flathead screwdriver to gain leverage to push the connector on the plastic on the left and right side. Be careful not to knick the wires. It will click into place.
Go to the gym and try again

Lube that mf’er
Remove GPU from motherdoard, plug in the power then install the GPU to the motherboard. Easier to push the plug all the way in.
What worked for me:
I actually had the same issue with a new card and I was nervous about pushing the connector too much.
After wasting like an hour stressing about it, I tried unplugging and plugging it back in a few times and within a few times it worked!
push it in without the gpu being plugged into the motherboard.
