Perhaps it has to do (or is a byproduct of) with the Poland -> Boston announcement. Also, tech turnover is kinda chaotic, although I’d be lying to pretend I understand the video game industry/workforce. Especially in EU not NA. 🤷🏻♂️

Fuck.

Oof, and to go to Techland, no less? 😐 Though, suppose they could really use the help, whereas pretty much all of Cyberpunk was great, so… hm.

Nice tidings, king! Hope he gets into a nice studio, preferably with less crunch 👀
TheRealestBiz
Why do you care? Serious question.

Thanks for all the memories, dude I never knew about before now that gave me hours upon hours of gaming

Happy to see them at Techland at least. Dying Light 2 made it obvious that they had big story ambitions but lacked the writers to realize.

May he find success and fulfillment in his future endeavors.
Faceless_Deviant
Guess we’ll be seeing some grade A writing in Techland games.

Seems like they got a promotion at a different studio 🤷 writer to principal writer, seems like. I wouldn’t look too deep into this one, just hope they got more money.
Creepy-Impact-5292
Maybe hired by Rockstar. 😀
HugelyOvercooked
dude got a promotion at another company, it is what it is. i dont think this is a big deal, hes one of more than a dozen writers credited on phantom liberty and all his contributions are in gigs

I think we’ve all been there in a job where we feel like we’re giving more than those around us and aren’t reaping any of the benefits of that. Good that he’s moving on, hopefully to somewhere he feels more needed and is surrounded by people he can see as peers.

What kind of company is Techland?
Bad_User2077
My biggest concern with the new cyberpunk is losing the awesome writers 2077 had. Best part of the best game I have ever played.

Dear Bethesda: Hire this man.
circusofvaluesgames
Just finished the man who killed Jason foreman, I’d say one of the best written missions in the game.

Well typical game industry stuff is typical. According to CDPR themselves there were basically no Witcher 3 devs and no engine devs there anymore when Cyberpunk got made. There will probably be very few Cyberpunk devs left when Witcher 4 and „Cyberpunk 2“ drop.
Unfortunately this is the reality of the gaming industry.
SamFisherXboxOG
Turnover rate is crazy in the gaming industry to the point that all the people that made a studio what it is are gone and then it becomes nothing more then the studio in name only.
nelejts
Was he the lead? Cyberpunks writing is phenomenal. I will absolutely follow any new games they’re working on
