Look I hate the “OMG gaming at less than 120 is morally wrong” crowd, but I am 100% sure 30 fps makes me eyes bleed. 60 is 10x better to me.
I have tried 120 and MY eyes cannot see the difference. I don’t game on my Sony OLED anymore because I tried and I CANT SEE THE DIFFERENCE OF 120 vs 60. Blacks were nice for sure.
But my trusty old Samsung (4k 43″ IPS) monitor is good enough for me at 60fps.

30 fps is fine if it is stable, if it goes up and down every now and then, that makes it unplayable, which tends to happen (and noticably) a lot more on pc than consoles

The majority of Steam hardware stats are midrange graphic cards (1080p 60+fps).
When PS4 came out in 2013, people shouldn’t buy 2 gb midrange cards. Wait for 4 gb midrange graphic card (2016 Nvidia Pascal/2017 AMD Polaris) to get 60 fps.
Just like this gen, wait for an affordable 16 gb graphic card.

I mean, thats a big point of playing on a PC though. If you only want to play at 30 or 60 fps, there isn’t much reason to get a PC over just getting a console. Besides, playing at that low of a framerate with a controller is fine, but with a mouse it kinda sucks because of how fast you look around.

I don’t even care anymore. Unless I spend my whole savings on my PC, I won’t see any good FPS values like I used to, not because of my system but because of how poorly optimised games are nowadays. If it ain’t it, then it’s Denuvo. I feel like we’re getting to a point where we’re content with half-assed job being put out by developers. Instead of taking this to their face, we just upgrade our PCs spending absurd amount of money without any justifiable point to do so. Why do I have to pay $70 if they require me to run it on not a $1500 rig like they promised but $5000 one?

A consistent 30 fps is more tolerable than higher but inconsistent framerates. And this is coming from a pc-player who really likes high frame rates.
