noob here, sorry if i sound stupid. I have an FX-8350 at 4.82GHz 1.55V (if i go higher and open prime the pc will freeze) and when I run Prime95 for couple minutes it keeps showing spikes in task manager. but prime95 itself doesn't crash or throw an error. ot's just these spikes of cpu freq going up then down. and then eventually a worker gives up. is it fine i can still use my pc like this everyday for like gaming? these spikes go away if i drop the cpu to 4.5ghz

Cinebench is not a stability test. With that said however, Prime95 is basically worst case scenario besides Linpack in terms of heaviness and instruction sets, so you should start with something in the middle like OCCT/CoreCycler etc
Are you on stock cooler or 3rd party cooler?
Cinebench is a benchmark program, not a stability testing software program. If it crashes in CB that’s a really bad sign, but if it’s stable that doesn’t mean much.
Just use your PC. If it crashes occasionally, it’s not stable. If it never crashes and performance is as expected, it’s good.
You’re wasting your time overclocking the cores on Bulldozer. That’s not how they scale.
Dial back voltage to 1.45V, go down to about 4.5 GHz.
All the thermal headroom should go into extra voltage and frequency for the NB and some of it to HT.
Pretty much every chip can go 2600NB and 2400HT.
After that, you’ll likely need to use FSB overclocking, because it’s unlikely you’ll hit 2800/2600.
If you’re not running your RAM at 2133-2400 that’s another huge problem. Pretty much every 1600C9 kit will do 2133C12, better timings are possible. As long as a fan is pointing at the sticks, 1.7V is fine but a lot of ICs become more unstable over 1.65.
Might have to fiddle to reach the absolute max and it might be around 2200ish RAM, 2700 ish FSB and 2370 or something HT with roughly 4.5 on the cores. Validate each individually with multipliers, then do FSB after.
