I’m sure Johnny’d have a lot to say about David’s schooling, Gloria’s dreams for him, etc. Probably would also give David some shit for running with an edgerunning crew instead of using his Sandy to fight the man. Typical Johnny stuff. Wonder if he’d see the similarities between Lucy and Alt. Come to think of it, between Kiwi, Lucy, Alt, and T-bug, female netrunners really seem to get the short end of the stick huh?

Depends on where they meet. If right after David’s mom dies, then I think Johnny would have changed David’s path and saved him. If after Mace dies, then Johnny would have hated his arrogant Smasher like attitude.

I think the chip would’ve stopped David from losing his mind to cyberpsychosis. I think Johnny would have not liked David’s crew or his fixer. I do feel like David’s hothead would have made him butt heads with Johnny and not get along. David is more childish and emotionally driven than V.

Johnny would probably get along with David more. Their goals also seem more in-line with each other, it’s possible Johnny would have been able to save David from Smasher between the chip itself bearing a of the cyberpsychosis load and his experience. Rebecca would still probably be alive as a result and the crew would eventually work their way into trying to find a cure for David.
Whether or not they’re successful is an entirely different matter, but the series doesn’t end the way it did and we don’t have to see Lucy cry on the moon.

One of the biggest reasons Johnny likes V is because they’re a willful pain in the ass. David is a traumatized piece of putty who needs to be told what to do.
Johnny would have liked David initially because he’s a yes-man. He would have steered him clear of Lucy but never would have respected him.
