    I did this when I just wanted to play some games but didn’t have the money to build a full-on system. The little Inspiron and some upgrades and small case mods worked great until I could build a rig.

    Hey I did a similar thing in the past… But worse.

    I bought a tower Optiplex, a GPU and a new PSU. The GPU didn’t fit, I think I didn’t even try to install the PSU in the case.

    So the case became a stand, the PSU was lying next to the case and the motherboard was on top of the case. It worked for ~2 years until it suddenly died. What a gaming beast it was: i3 2100, 4GB RAM, RX 480
