nvidia has been doing nvidia things well before maxwell…

It’s like Nvidia is allergic to having VRAM on their cards or something.

Nah its how many time can we slice the GK 110 and surprise price drop.

    Apparently…. I don’t know.

  5. GTX 970, Bulldozer, K6, i trust no one…Intel has not screwed me over yet but it will probably happen at some point

This was so wild. Like literally penny pinching practices. You really couldn’t afford that extra HALF A F***ING GIG Nvidia?

Should have started much earlier; fake Fermi cards with wood screws, anyone?

“If you know”, c’mon there’s only like 3.5 people that don’t know.

  9. The bit that really got me scratching my head was that AAA open world titles at 1080p invariably used 3.6 gigs of VRAM.

It should have been the darling 1080p card but it would shit the bed every now and again. Built in obsolescence but in such a niche way I took it personally.

Watch dogs 2. Cruising around at 55-60fps with everything set to beautiful then a bird flies too close to the camera and then bleugh – until the +0.5 gets switched off .

Ram wasn’t even particularly expensive then.

I literally just replaced my GTX 970 last week with a 4070 Ti Super (needed that 16 GB cause I now have PTSD over VRAM limitations). Despite the lie about VRAM capacity, that GTX was a champ! 9 years of great 1080p gaming is nothing to scoff at. Hoping to get similar longevity out of the 4070TiS.

Oh I remember. I got like 30 bucks back for their lies lol

I got a check in the mail for something like $11 for this one.

Meanwhile, the 980 is where I started.

That thing was wide. Stupid Asus models.

I upgraded from a 970 to a 2070s when those came out I wish I had more vram

I had a system with 970 and fx8350 a system full of lies and broken promises.

My first GPU upgrade. It’s a good GPU but for those who don’t know, the 970 was advertised as a 4gb card.

What they didn’t explain was how the cards are actually 3.5gb vram

Hilarious enough, I upgraded to the RTX 2070 regular and well… The ppl complaining about theirs falling while mine which still has micron memory is still running to this day.

Would’ve got a 4k series Nvidia GPU but I’m very disappointed by the vram they have so I’m keeping my 2070.

Need a good GPU for my AI hobby so now I might need a new PSU as well…

Hey the 970 was a really good card! I rate it a high 3.5/4

Yeah I got bamboozled with my zotac 970, at least it had a free copy of The Witcher 3.
