I recently bought my dream house….however I am quite young and the office gives off real 70 year old doctor vibes…
What would you all change to make it more…exciting…without ruining the stellar craftsmanship that went into these cabinets.
3 matching monitors is the obvious first step…what next? Dark green walls? Cybernetic paint designs?

Unless you’re comically short, that monitor height is far from ergonomic. Take out all the upper cabinets, at least the ones above your setup and raise the monitors up to eye level.
If you absolutely need the storage replace them with some modern/rectangular looking cabinets and put them a good bit further up.
If you want that gamer aesthetic, some tasteful RGB behind the monitors or on the wall couldn’t hurt. But make it indirect or diffused, don’t just go slapping RGB strips on the wall.

If it was up to me I’d remove these cabinets. You could then wall mount the monitors and either hang up some pictures/displates or a few shelves to fill out the now empty wall.
As for what’s left:
a light gray paintjob for the desk and remaining cabinet could fit nicely with your black setup and the white walls.

Green: fill it with some grey/black (to match carpet or desk colors) with something

I kinda like it, but a re-stain would definitely help. If it’s in your budget, I’d get rid of most the upper cabinets, especially the ones over your monitors. But I’d keep that big cabinet on the right.

Turn the chair around and put a matching desk in front of it. Then you’ll be facing the door like a proper boss
Keep your kitchen office. It’s awesome!
– darker stain on the wood
– warm white LED strips at the very top, middle and bottom
– consider removing the one cabinet above your middle monitor so you can have a larger middle monitor
Add a sink, tap mixer and built-in set to that corner, continue using it as a kitchen and move the system to a quieter, more spacious and less cluttered room of the house 🙂
Those are built in – I’m afraid there’s no way to make any significant modification(s) without essentially destroying the cabinets. I’ve recently been in a similar situation – place I bought has a built in kitchen that is “meh”, wanted to renovate it, quoted price was measurable in astronomical units, the kitchen stays…
Assuming you found this furniture in the house,I’m gonna bet this area was originally a kitchen or it was meant to be that, and it was converted – the shape is a dead giveaway (the area where you have the “desk” was the stove/oven, and the cabinet on top was designed to house an extractor).
If you want to try and modernize it, well…take the doors off and try how it looks with a “wall spanning bookcase” look. Especially the two glass doors above your seat, those are “grandma’s kitchen” all the way – what’s with the glasses in it?
For starters get rid of the picture of Trump.

Just add some RGB strip lights around your ceiling and you will transform it from a 70 year old office into a 17 years olds office. $50, boom, done.
I would love that setup. The only thing I’d change personally is have shelves instead of upper cabinets and no shelves or cabinets above where the monitors are, so I could hang one of my posters or banners.

I think what this comes down to is paint, lighting, and decor.
Have an electrician (or you, if you’re inclined) run some lighting into the shelves and underneath the cabinets. Make them RGB if you want, and have it zoned so you can have your up-lighting and down-lighting can be independently controlled. Replace the ceiling light with something you like, and put it on a smart dimmer like Lutron caseta so you can have a Pico remote on your desk to control it.
If it’s in budget, having the cabinets and/or floor restained to a different color could make a world of difference (a good floor guy could put a threshold in by the door so the transition isn’t jarring). **Personally, I’d hesitate to remove too many cabinets, as having all that storage will help keep the office tidy.**
Putting a dramatic, masculine color on the walls, think a British racing green or a really opulent blue, would be nice.
While you’re at it, get some new window treatments. Zigbee-radio smart blinds have become remarkably affordable, and being able to control your office with the tap of a button will be cool,
Finally, get some art on those walls. Find a local gallery, and just talk with the curator. You’ll find that photography is a great “gateway” into art from a pricing perspective. Im thinking a black and white photo could be cool.

Looks classy, personally wouldn’t change a thing, maybe looks like a kitchen furniture a bit… but it isn’t bad. Of course you can make the default and boring rgb lighting everywhere and modern/futuristic design that will most likely look good, but for that you would have to remove all the furniture, since it wouldn’t fit
Get some cool decorations, like rugs and posters, youve got pretty much everything else aside from doing a coat of paint

Those cabinets are a huge part of the look, change them and things will seem very different.
I’d buy another desk and put it so that you are nearly encircled by desk space and the cabinets are behind you when you sit at the desk.
