Yeah right. We’ll believe it when we see it. They’ve said this many times.

Hey just 2 more years away!
T4lsin
Lol sure it is. The Grift continues.
HornyAcheronMain
Man, they should drag it out to a billion dollars. Because.

>However, there is still no release date or even release window for Star Citizen 1.0.

Finally an AAAAAAA game
OddShow7069
“Twinkles”, lol. You can see a lot of stars twinkling in the night sky but that doesn’t mean we’ll ever reach any of them. $669 scam of the century.
SigmaLance
So they are approaching $1B in revenue without a final release?
How is this even possible?

TW_Yellow78
For the same cost, SpaceX could build an actual starship
Whorrox
The only thing positive that has come from Star Citizen is the entertainment – not from the game itself – by from watching the rabid trolls who defend it with a weird combo of sincere passion and vile toxicity, and are immune from the reality from dead game play, dwindling player numbers, and dev disinterest.
ShadowRiku667
Things that will definitely be released in my lifetime:
The next game of thrones book.
TES6.
Star citizen.
Whorrox
For $49.99 you can have a twinkling star named after you…
WillArrr
They’ve made $669 million just on promises so far. Why the hell would they ever release this game? All that would accomplish is to disappoint people and make them stop throwing bags of money at you.
Bratley513
The best would be if they released 1.0 and were like,”nah we done. 1.0 is all you get. So long and thanks for all the fish”.
Broarethus
One thing to point out, is that the original kickstarter game 12 years ago, is so small compared to what they are doing now, looking back at the footage, it’s crazy different and that started ramping up with the extra studios within the last 6 or so years.
Also recently tested out 200 player servers, alongside testing out the new jump points, and when the game releases highly doubt they’d have even half the planetary systems, and will add more as game progresses, but are focusing on gameplay systems and getting their single player game out first.
Sirus_Griffing
Alpha Centauri is a twinkle too. We may get there before this actually releases.
TheRimz
Crazy what they’ve been able to pull off, especially recently. The pace sure is picking up
GreatName
This game gets the sweats in here soo mad. It’s actually funny.
HoboSkid
So people who’ve actually spent time playing, is there an actual functioning game? I could peruse the comments but it’s 99% some form of “This is a scam”joke, but I’m legit curious about people’s actual experience with this weird game development timeline.
Mr_Rogersbot
You know what else twinkles on the horizon? A mirage
crnppscls
They need to get squadron 42 out.
That’s kinda all I can say. I’m still dubious of how good a multiplayer game can be on that engine where they are just starting to test server meshing.
flerchin
I’ll pay money for 1.0 and not before. I’m square in their demographic but they have to _produce a game_ first.
SirPeasantbury
A friend of mine is a tester on SC. Hes been under crunch for the last like 2 months with mandatory overtime. They’re gearing up for something i suspect.
Fuarian
Say what you want about marketing and funding practices but tangible progress is being made on Star Citizen.
As for Squadron 42 well.. nobody really knows besides what’s been shown so far and what they’ve said. But based on those things it’s no wonder it’s taken so long and cost so much.
Regardless people will still choose to take the pessimistic angle and see it one way without consideration of other possibilities.

Yawn, I read similar headlines every couple of months, let me know when I can get to my ship without falling through an elevator right after loading in
