Okay, admittedly I haven't OC'd since 2013, but I didn't think I'd hit a wall this hard. I started off with default mobo settings and decided to use Intel's XTU. First, I let it optimize and it went for 55x, but instantly crashed. I tried dialing it back to 53x, but it crashed. 52x. Crash. 51x. Crash.
Closed out XTU and decided to OC in BIOS thinking maybe Gigabyte was interfering with my CPU settings. I spent hours tweaking and watching videos of people with similar setups, but I could not come up with a single OC that would boot. Even imported a profile from someone with my same setup and it crashed.
I've never had a CPU that wouldn't let me touch it. Surely this is some kind of compatibility issue? I'm completely baffled in what to do and I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions. I'm not trying to break a world record, but it would be nice to squeeze a little more out of my build.
