I vape too but i use desk fan for air circulation and the air dissipates the smoke of the vape and my laptop never had your problem, unless you blow the smoke directly to the fan intakes then yes but then again i sometimes blow the vape smoke to my laptop fan intake to tell if it’s drawing air or not
Lots of electronics has seen EOL due to vape smoke. But it generally happens within closed room with poor circulations.
Shiny_Duck
Yes vape smoke can definitely leave a residue. I’ve heard of people keeping an old rag in their car to wipe off the inside of their windscreen after the residue builds up.
AjUzumaki77
Because of the sweetness of the vaping flavor, it definitely disturbs your fans as well as your lungs from getting enough oxygen.
CeramicBowl43

Go pick up a pack of Zyns or equivalent. I recommend the ‘smooth” flavor.
I stopped my decade long vaping habit in two days because of these things.
I’m sure they aren’t healthy either, but I’m not inhaling a boat load of nasty vapor anymore.
Edit: now I need to crack open my laptop and see what it looks like. I definitely had been absent mindedly exhaling clouds at it.

guys before you post some pictures of lungs, pls read what was cause of dmg. vaping nicotine juice isnt one of them.i know you want to look smart, after all this is pcmaster race, but pls stop it.

Yes. Vape juice 100%. Don’t blow the steam towards electronics or this will happen.
Isopropyl alcohol should make it all ok.
EDIT: As someone else said here, DO NOT clean the screen with iso, or it could damage it. Use a damp microfiber cloth and it should clean up without a hassle.
dnaicker86
thats the caramel sugar syrup you inhale from the vape that is now residuing on your pc components

How can vaping be worse for a PC than smoking? I’m blazing more or less 24/7 near my tower and I’ve never seen anything like this.
PeterGriffinBalls
looks more like excessive humidity
macguffinstv
It can. If you drive and vape you will start to notice a film on the windows from it.
I use spitless nicotine pouches now, trying to quit everything soon.
almighty_dick_weed
Can someone here explain, does this also happen with the penjamine? I tend to hit mine next to my Pc A lot, but I leave the door and windows open.
SaltyMelonWank
You wont get an educated answer here considering this place is very antivape. Although, what kinda clouds do people chuck that causes this much?
Cheefnuggs
I have vaped around my PC’s and laptop for years and have never had this issue. If your friend blowing it directly into the intake?
Dizzy-South9352

Passenger_Impressive
Been vaping for years around my electronics and in the car. I have never had any residue like this. Are you guys just blowing your smoke directly into the air vents?
KMReiserFS

Tango-Turtle
Yes.

Yup, I twilighted as an Apple Repair Technician and someone who vaped brought in his now yellow iMac for repair as the monitor was basically fully yellow. I’d never seen anything like it, same coloured vapour and condensation, smelt horrible.
notyouagain-really
I own a window cleaning business, and at new customers with Vapers, the windows can be yellow with the oil or whatever it is all over the windows. It’s especially noticeable around the window vents. It turns the equipment yellow and the water yellow too. It’s way worse than a home of a smoker.

Seems plausible. I mean, you’re evaporating Glycol and it has to condense again somewhere…

Its vape juice, know a woman whos husband found out she was vaping because the drivers tinted window was ruined by the **glycerin** in the vape. Some of these vapes are like fog machines and thats all oil vapor which collets and sticks to things, my partners tv is the same it leaves smears on the screen.
Le_Canard_Belge
Short answer : Yes.
Slighlty longer answer : Vaping smoke is literally suspended water drops in the air, if it gets inside your laptop it can build up and damage it with water (moisture -> short circuits, mold, oxydation and more funky things).
Try to either smoke less in front of your pc, have it rest lower than the desk (like under it) or open your windows to create an airflow to reduce the amount of water your pc swallows.
