Jesus is didnt realize how buggy the 4090 is. I have a 108ti as well. Planning on upgrading my whole rig.

Last Pic is a PSU. Don’t lie to us xD

Dang I didnt realize theres a huge difference in size. Thanks for the close up comparison.
Does this mean its better to but an E-ATX case? Or a regular case would be fine? TIA

I got the very same upgrade in 2022.
Be warned: the difference will blow your socks off….
…both in terms of performance and power consumption lol

You vs the GPU your motherboard told you not to worry about.

As an owner of a 1080ti I am genuinely flabbergasted, what the f lol
H3xRun3
How much of that 4090 is just heatsink?
M1dor1
The actual board is even shorter than on the 1080
Drake_Xahu
Half of it is just cooling

What’s more wild is the PCB it self keeps getting smaller
Graphics card PCBs could be half their size if they didn’t need to fit into the PCIE spec
Qtreman
It’s ridiculous how tiny GPU used to be.

Aye I have the same 1080 ti and I daily drive it, it’s an awesome card
Flinty984
Damn your 4090 is so big it even cools your screen! /s
quadruple_negative87
Dang! I think I felt the same way going from 1660 super to 1080ti.

Let’s see 5090 take the whole bottom half of a full tower case.

I feel like 1080/1080tis are the Honda civics of graphics cards. They just go and go and go until eventually because of a sheer time they just don’t work anymore. I had one and 3 of my friends had one. Never any issues. One of those three friends actually had to go back to it because his 2080 died and then when he got a 6800 XT it didn’t even post😭
Milam1996
Just finished my build. Was so heavy I had to use both arms to lift it to get it into the case. Tomorrow is the day I have to lift the entire build onto the desk. Pray for me.

Those two screws in the last photo have seen some shit man 😂

It’s interesting considering size to performance wise, 1080ti is a tad faster than RX 6600XT. And RX 6600XT is around the size of 1080ti.
International_Ad7456
the 4090 is a 450W TDP GPU, hence the mammooth cooler

At this point graphics cards are bricks
1080ti was considered as a big gpu when it was released
At least 1080ti Chad card isn’t prone to self immolation just because it feels like it. He-He
Good your getting your money worth in metals.
Nvidia went back to the Fermi era 3 slot space but without a third port.
Does the 4090 fit in that Phantom in the background? God i wish NZXT would make those again but with better compatibility
Yeah, high end GPUs currently are just chonks, sure they are quiet and cool, but still massive bricks.
You vs the guy she told you not to worry about
I had the exact same model of 1080Ti, was absolutely floored by the size compared to the 4080 I replaced it with

Which 4090 model is this? Never seen this gigabyte model before
This is the Hercules monochrome graphics card from 1984. I had one in my first pc ever.
