Meh.. hard to out a price on a custom desk, also if the chair is included that is an expensive chair. The Yeti mic is also a couple hundred

used hardware doesnt hold value. used pc hardware hold even less value as every year something better is coming out.

It’s not *that* insane. A lot of it is definitely priced as if this is new rather than used though.
The monitors alone are probably over $1000 (I’m guessing since he didn’t list a model number or resolution). The desk is probably around $500 or more as well (butcher block top + adjustable motorized standing desk base), and the secret lab chair is also between $550 and $650.
That’s over $2000 just for desk, chair, and monitors. The mouse is $100, can’t say anything about the keyboard since we don’t know what he has, but corsair keyboards aren’t cheap, so I could easily see that costing $200. The webcam is like $150. Without knowing what model the mic is, it’s probably like $100 to $200 (including the arm).
If someone wanted to get into streaming, was starting from scratch, and didn’t want to learn how to put a set-up together themselves the convenience might be worth it. It’s not a good deal by any means, but it’s not insanely terrible. It’s a terrible deal if you just want a gaming PC though.

All in, as others have noted, it may be pretty close – but I also suspect this is a starting price. Offer him 2800-3000 and see if he bites. At those prices, it’s likely a pretty good deal, assuming you need / will use all the extras.
* Secret lab chair – $500+ new, $300 used?
* Custom desk, could be up to about $800 depending on the length and the base he used. Lets say $500 used.
* Custom keyboard? Could be cheap as shit, could be $500 or more. Custom keyboard community is nuts.
* Ill be generous and give him $800 for his PC
* Another $500 used for the monitors.

$3500 is for sure too much. But like 2k doesn’t sound unreasonable. Parts alone would put it above 2k before you consider the mouse/keyboard, chair, and desk. It also says nothing about storage.
This is tame. I’ve seen people ask more for systems with 7th gen i5s in my area.

64 gigs of ram.. without speed listed… so it’s probably not even turned up to its potential… and the system only uses less than a quarter of it. 🤦♂️

This is what I call the “I didn’t realize the hours it would take to start making money in streaming and spent over 3 grand shoveling money into a hobby” setup. It’s really nice for someone else if the price was half of what it was.

If you were just buying the pc you’d be getting robbed. If you’re going to invest that much money, put it all in a pc and get the other things for an addition 200-300 dollars
Vertical curved monitors are peak stupidity
I can understand that the monitors can be pricey considering the 240hz refresh rate. Similar ones would cost a lot brand new.
But the gpu came out in 2019, and it wouldn’t be able to run modern games on those monitors without dropping the graphic settings.
CPU is 5 generations old and on par with the Ryzen 3000 series. Serious F in the chat for future proofing.
Does this include a months rent of his house?
