Probably Windows 7. After Vista it was nice having a good OS again.

You’re young.
3.11 was the bomb.

I experience nostalgia for some things.
I donβt think Windows is one of those things.

Win 95. Played all my first computer games on it. Damn I’m getting old…

I would say Windows 95/98, but I have to go with Windows XP. I started using the computer so much more when we got XP.

Even though I started with 95. The one for me is XP

I remember going to computer classes as a toddler, and windows 98 was the thing there. But our first home PC that my brother bought when I was a teen, had XP on it, that’s the one that hits the nostalgia for me. I have this vintage computer for sale in my store, running windows 98, I think it has 96 MB of RAM, the biggest mystery that keeps me awake at night, is why the hell is that thing not slow? I would be able to do some work on that thing. Why do we need 32Gb now to run chrome?

But the most memorable was Windows ME, came with a prebuilt system and it still gives me tics thinking about those days.

Getting windows 3.1 after using DOS was quite something. It all looked so pretty at the time. Incredible. I would run it just to look at it. Not to mention the move to 3.1 inch no-longer-so-floppy floppies. Haha.
Then windows 95 came with a new PC. But yes this upgrade to 98 was definitely something. Those were really exciting times. Days of fun. Truly sometimes I feel the late 90s and early 2000s were some of the most exciting days in PCs. Everything was so harmless, and everything was such a big leap.
Now updates are quite frankly a mild annoyance. Haha. How things have changed.

Windows 95. I learned a lot thanks to daily BSODs, but it was fun. XP, though, was solid.

Installed it at least 100 times, I swear.
XP. This was the heyday of Limewire and I managed to give my laptop the eBolaAIDS enough times that I actually memorized the key for my copy of XP.

window98? lmao. back in the day we run prince of persian through MS-DOS with those coding key c:\ xxxx.exe and feel like a hacker lol

Would be Windows XP for the big one. My dad used to do programming so we always had the latest Windows OS. But I remember 3.1 onwards playing Warcraft 1 and 2. Mom’s PC had 95. Was a big deal when I got my own computer in my room an old Compaq with 98 and eventually XP which broke all my old DOS games before being replaced with an Athlon XP system with XP. By my late teens Vista was a hot mess. College was 7 which is still my overall favourite.

Windows 10 because its when I made the switch to PC. Idk about anything else other than 10. Ive heard whispers of something called vista but idk π

Windows 3.1. Upgrading from MSDOS to Windows was so mind blowing when I was a kid. Going from black and white command prompts and blue/Grey GUIs to Windows was such an amazing experience.

98 definitely was better than 95…somehow. I just remember liking it more. Also that’s the os I played Starcraft on so there’s that.
But really, after a buncha other iterations, the heavens parted, the sun shown mightily in the sky, and lo, there was great rejoicing for the ultimate OS:

Most memorable was thinking how cool and “l33t” I was using Windows NT 3.1 instead of regular old windows.

98Se is my favorite windows I think.
I used it all the way until 2015 I want to say before the motherboard in the PC crapped out on me, and it was cheaper to buy a newer one than fix the old one.
Went to Vista pro edition. Really enjoyed it, it ran well on the HP I had.
I think I might still have some older editions. I know I have a windows 3.5 …3.1 something (I know it is 3. ) around here. Where it got to…that is the bigger mystery. Probably keeping all the old AOL disks company.
