Remember when it would actually be images of actual gameplay and you would learn about the devs and things they’d do while working on the cars like drive the cars, work with the military on shooters like socom, cod, brothers in arms actually work with real ex vets And experts Some would even have demos of games. Boy were games different back then.. like they were made with more passion and love, less politics and shortcuts but I dunno I’m just some guy on Reddit.

I remember going to Walmart and buying these magazines. I loved reading the reviews for bad video games lol
Game informer, bay-beeeeee!
I bugged my dad for months to buy the Game Informer magazine subscription when I was a kid. I was so happy when he finally shut me up by getting it, lol
We would drive to Big Bear every month or so, parents had a time share. My favorite part of the drive up the mountain was knowing they were gonna let me get an EGM or Nintendo Power to read on the way up.
I’d read em page to page multiple times, circle the games I wanted and give the issues to my grandma so she could have them for Christmas gift ideas for me lol.
I’ll never forget my grandma saying “I got you a subscription to that Gamepro magazine because I’m so damn tired of having to pick one up every trip to the grocery.” And I got one monthly for like 5 years. I miss the excitement of opening them up! We didn’t know how good we had it!
