Maybe back in the day they used to be but now they’d prefer you not to buy a 4090 because they’re wasting time selling you a $1600 gpu when they’d rather sell a $50,000 H200 to Meta. They blocked cuda from being translated because it means less need for their specific GPUs since tons of machine learning libraries call cuda api for their devices.

They’re a gpu company and always have.
The fact that they’ve transcended purely gaming is meaningless. They simply have more R&D and you can see the trickle down of AI features now
Okay, and AMD is the same, now that they have EPYC and Instinct. They aren’t even doing high-end GPUs for RDNA 4, because Nvidia (which apparently is not a gaming company) is so much better at gaming GPUs.
Glad I bought the stock in 2016 👍🏻
GPU: costs $100 to make
Nvidia: let’s just go ahead and charge $2000 lolololol
They got really lucky with the double jump of demand. First Crypto, now AI. I have a feeling this will end like Cisco during the internet boom. Sold billions, then the market got flooded with equipment when all the tech startups went bust.
Yet they’re the best gaming company
The AI boom won’t last forever.
3 billion = 3 billion 🤷🏼♂️
Why do they pay so little in tax? Only 12%
It’s always been the case with every chip manufacturer. Intel would prefer more Enterprise customers buy their chips. Samsung would rather sell more memory to OEMs because they sell more business computers at way better margins. We are the fringe. But with one difference. We love the technology and we work as effective grass roots marketing.
Just a reminder that Nvidia is not only about GPUs. They bought Mellanox, which are network cards for servers in data center so yes, they must have an insanely huge market share for IT components in data center.
I love my prius with an RTX4090 in it
Where is the came in fluffier
What data centers?
Nvidia will get hit with lawsuits over the CUDA stuff. They cant lock competitors out. I imagine they will gain some time with that move, but the bubble is likely around a year.
If China invades Taiwan, Nvidia will be worth far less too. Be careful.
Reminder that 9.2 billion is probably enough to feed every homeless person in America twice over.
Correct, they are a R&D company that designs GOUs, among other things
This is stupid. Companies usually have more than one product, and intel and amd are the same way. Nvidia are a gpu company. Gpus arent only for gaming
It doesn’t matter how much they’re making off of data centers, that’s still 3 billion dollars. There isn’t a company rich enough to not care about 3 billion dollars.
It is easier to think that no company is a gaming, clothing, food company. All companies are money companies.
For example, if Intel finds a way to produce rice that is more profitable than microprocessors, I guarantee you they will start selling rice.
Sorry but this post is fully brain dead as AMD also makes a ton of money outside gaming but it’s currently mostly on CPUs due to them being behind in terms of GPUs.
Intel also makes a ton of money from outside gaming mainly from CPUs and other products in the datacenter market (NICs, etc.).
If CPUs were good at handling large chunks of data like GPU can (more fast memory & more “cores”), then AMD would probably be leading Nvidia in terms of revenue but the reality is GPUs are perfect for anything to do with large data such as simulations, data analytics, training AI models and etc.
reminder if you bought nvidia stock. you would now get a free 4090 or 5090 with the profits.
Their stock made 100% in 3 months
Same with AMD and Intel. Gaming is not the only market. Get out of that cave ffs
Braindead post btw
How the hell the corporation like this can pay ~10% tax on operating profit when I have to pay up to 45% on income before i can spend any of my money ?
Oh no! You mean they don’t care about me?
And water is wet
