He’s still mostly Crome but his 2020 Version fit didn’t really look it so they changed it kinda smashers whole selling point in 2077 at least

He was a full borg in 2020. Very very tough, rocking a *lot* of chrome. For comparison, the average Arasaka ninja in 2020 had enhanced reflexes and night vision cyberoptics. The average Militech trooper had a subdermal grip. That’s it.
Smasher had anti-dazzle night vision eyes with targeting scopes and a Times Square readout, enhanced hearing with a built-in radio and scramblers, Wolverine claws in both arms, radiation shielding, pain editors, and a “heavily modified Samson frame” which could probably have anything from pop-up guns to super strength.
And in 2023 he got the DaiOni suit, which was a *big* improvement over his already very tough body.
Why did smasher did not get cyber psycho though? He got way more implant than a normal cyber psycho
His 2020 self still had some of his humanity left, he tried to at least still look human then. By 2077 he no longer cared how he looked, going with a more inhuman body with more killing potential

The real question is what ***didn’t*** he have modified in 2020?
He’s been full borg for a while as per the lore he is basically just a brain in a jar as I forget the exact reson but a injury left him with basically only his head and mabey his upper torso I think so he wasn’t slowly replaced so much as forced in to a borg body or death. Though I could be mistaken is it’s been a minute since I read up on the lore.
I thought by then he got fucked up by a rocket and the bits left over being brought back by his team to arasaka they rebuilt him and he was over 90% cyborg and in debt to arasaka?
Full borg, the portion of him being human was so small he could switch between bodies, including one that vaguely looked like elvis
