The latest version of Unreal Engine (5.3) demonstrate extremely high possibilities. Some teams are already testing (like MAWI United)

Well Unreal always goes way beyond our expectations and always delivers them with something extra.

Some day we’ll can’t make the difference between reality and a game .

  3. Why would anyone care about UE5 if even EpicGames can’t work with it? Yes, it looks greate. But you will have 12fps on a mid range pc.

UE is starting to be used for visual effects in television (Mandolorian). This is great for entertainment.

But, it’s going to be real tough to optimize in time for game consumers for whatever they do. Even with DLSS.

This would be great for single player games that aren’t fast-paced action. Alan Wake type games, Slender The Arrival type games, walking simulators. VR games that just browse environments.

I’d like to see hybrid of this type of hyper realism that’s just a point and click.

  5. Even next gen consoles won’t be able to run today’s Unreal’s environmental demos in fast paced action games at 4K 60fps.

If you watch UE4 tech demos from 10 years ago, we’re not even there yet.

Realistic visuals shouldn’t be the focus of most games. Zelda and Mario 3D proves that every generation.

I’m sick of hearing about Unreal having good graphics call me when they announce it’s got something that makes game play better. I want to hear about it having a new physics system or can support some otherwise imposable mechanic.

Unreal graphic, a pity actual games are mostly very unoptimised and a stutter fest in the current UE5

Unreal is already photorealistic, it’s being used in major movies and series, like the Mandalorian for example.

It’s just a matter of balance and optimization, you want to get your game looking as good as possible while still being able to run well.

Yeaaah I love tech demos where there’s not even real gameplay possible with todays consumer products!

  10. The problem with these impressive looking demos is that someone wanting to make a game on an engine still has to make ALL their game’s assets at whatever level of detail they’re aiming for.

  11. Realism dont make good games, to be frank, the more the game focus on graphics, the less it focus in be a good game

Everytime I see these demos posted it is just an eye roll considering it is unreliable in the gaming scene. Sure you can show what the engine is capable of. What new toolkits and rendering solutions there are. But you are never going to see that level of visuals in games. They are demos. Not video games. Demos last gen look better than games this gen. We aren’t even 4k 60 fps standard yet.

  13. It’s like people who mod Skyrim out the ass and show pretty screenshots and walking around slowly. The second you try to actually play the game you get 3fps sideshow.

Still way too nervous to try upgrading from 4.27. I just know so much stuff is gonna break in the process.
