I played Sid Meiers Pirates this past weekend on my Series X. I haven’t played the game in years, probably 10 years or more. It was a whiplash just how many genres this game had. From ship sailing and combat, to QTE ship raiding combat, then you had city sneaking, group-based land invasion, then formal dancing, and a ton more. I had fun revisiting it. I’m going to have to play more of it soon.

Sadly, I don’t know that we’ll ever see another feature complete game again in my life.
There’s simply too much money to be made selling bits and pieces to gamers over and over and over again. Or to turn the games into a gambling experience with the chances of winning never made clear to keep the whales spending.
As Steph Sterling says: They don’t want just *some* of the money. They want **all** of it.

I made a roll and move board game in grade school based on the Hobbit using the map editor from Age of Empires for the terrain and it was more feature complete than Skull and Bones.

More than 20 years. The remake, Pirates! Gold, which I played back in the 90s, is 30 years old.

I’d say the Amiga version from the 90s is a more complete and enjoyable game.

Kingdom Hearts 3, in one level, has more gameplay than the entire game.

Brutal 😆
Seriously though, skull and bones any good?

I loved doing raiding while also going to every port and formal dancing each Mayors daughter, then racking up a bunch of marriages and money all to end up dying happy at 50.
Its honestly a real fun pirate game. Id say it and Assassins Creed Black Flag are top tier

Skull and bones the pirate game you can’t pirate. I’ve said this since it was first announced what wouldn’t be in the game. Pretty whack. I agree with the og poster 100 percent

My friends and I designed our own board game based on the land invasion feature of this game. This will always give me the best nostalgia
