Even the more simple ones are damn near impossible today because of tissue rejection. In this regard deus Ex has the technology closer to realism.
But if tissue rejection is something we someday are able to solve the sky is the limit. Even for the more absurd and complex ones like spine or whole limbs
if someone finds out how to manipulate the immune system and doesn’t dissapear, sure, we might get cyberware in the future
Reinforced tendons. The act of double jumping off of air is theoretically possible, it would just require kicking the air so hard it compresses into a solid surface. Only issue is that level of compression would trigger nuclear fusion
Why is everyone overlooking the one that slows down your perception of time?? While being completely functional. That just seems straight up unachievable

all OS-level cyberware (sandevistan/cyberdecks) would be incredibly rare. governments and corporations wouldn’t want a bunch of randos running around hacking everything, or massacring squadrons in a split second.

sandevistan would easily be the most difficult ware to produce, being that it must interface with the entire rest of the body. anything on the level of the Militech Apogee (like David Martinez) would likely require a full chrome body and organ replacement, as that level of acceleration may just liquefy your organs. especially the brain. i can see this being reserved especially for military units, jet fighter or mech pilots in particular.

Cyberdecks could be easy on paper, but much like Sandevistans, you need an impossibly powerful human to harness its capabilities. We haven’t reached a level where the brain can “overclock” itself without shutting down the part that’s causing the problem.
2077 level cyberware could kill people. One cyberware that could make sense and is possibly safe would be Kiroshis. Will it be difficult to adapt? Absolutely, but on a scale of “might go blind” to “will literally kill you,” it’s on the lower end.

First: Yes, it would be a good idea. Just think of a knife, does it kill? Yes, is that its main goal? No, it is a tool to make it easy some task. Cyberware would be the same thing, obviously there will be always people who will use it as a weapon, but there is no way to evade that. (Also thats kinda the idea behind Max-Tac, over cyberwared people that are allowed to use full force in those who go crazy)
Second, considering every cyberware able to be created. Sandevistan will be the hardest one, its basically cheating time, but not just mentally it also affects the body. Having something that make you as fast as a blink without breaking your whole body structure would be the most incredible thing ever made. In the game or the show, its just a spinal cyberware, but in reality you would need to enhanced every joint, muscle and bone in your body to support the explosive speed force that you will suffer in each activation. Without considering the brain damage it will do in case even with enhancement the brain can’t manage that overload.
PD: One of the hardest things of the cyberware is something we don’t see directly, and its the neural connection of them, thats one of the hardest thing to create too. At least with our technology.

Sandy. Technically we could increase our perception speed but then to force the body to follow at such speeds would rip bone and muscle to shred. Oh, and the heart would probably explode.
All fun and games until someone decides to fry your OS or nervous system. Like someone said, generally people understand that someone will always weaponize anything but people never think of it happening to them. The idea of chrome is fun, but nah you can count me out.
As for hardest, Sandy. Time is both relative and absolute. Just because time is moving super slow to you, does not mean it stopped for people around you. Not to mention the biological implications/strain it would have on the body but that goes for just about everything on the list. Your immune system is quite smart and is good at rejecting foreign bodies

The most difficult would be the Sandevistan. I don’t think your meat body can handle such speeds. Your brain would be jelly.
It would be one of those kinds of medical innovations that would really be generation defining. Access to this kind of powerful cybernetics and technology would be a godsend, but such a double edged sword.
I would love to have mantis blades as my #1 go to arm cyberware, and the Monowire as my second. I would also find some nano bots or even find a new implant that could relieve me of diabetes; like a synth-pancreas, or an insulin regulator. Biomons should be the #1 implant for everyone. No exemptions lol. Run a diagnosis on yourself to find out what’s wrong and where is happening.

Kiroshis would be MINT. Scanner too so we could utilize them in trades and major jobs like medical, military and etc. imagine being a doctor and being able to zoom in to see where something would normally be invisible from a normal distance? No need for special headwear or headlamps.

Anything that could interface with nerves at the level of CP2077 cyberware would be magic by today’s standards. We’re still at a loss as to how you can replace a limb while having as much control as an organic one. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk has limbs that have a perfectly replicated sense of touch, which is an order of magnitude harder to do.
In my opinion, an edge runner build is the best. Try the David Martinez build and you’ll see what I’m talking about

It would not be good to make any weaponized or OS cyberware since corporations IRL are probably worse than the ones in game, and would not hesitate to press a switch and make everyone pull a Suicide Squad.

Bezerk would be the easiest, right? It just turns you into a raging brawler. Anyone can do that if they inject enough cocaine into their bloodstream.
We just started putting chips in our heads and there’s very few limb implants that can communicate effectively with nerves, so pretty much everything in the game is out of reach, for now. Give it a couple decades and we might have replacement limbs that work flawlessly and are able to provide feedback to the user.
After these necessary custom made artificial limbs/organs reach acceptable levels of integration and reliability with the human body (and the long/expensive research is done) we might see a boom of biotech companies offering mass produced implants for all kinds of tasks.
That said, our main limitation for having Cyberpunk level implants is a power source. In the game, everything just slots into the body and doesn’t seem to need any additional power other than the very low voltage the body provides. IRL to have something like Mantis blades swiveling out or the ability to jump 2 stories high you’ll probably need a very large battery pack attached to you.
If you ask me, currently, the major tech challenge for humankind is to come up with a new power source that needs to:
– Be small and light enough to be portable.
– Have tremendous capacity, to endure days of continuous usage with no recharge.
– Have very high output, to be able to power heavy actuators.
– Be non-radioactive and (ideally) not flammable.
– Not overheat under extreme use.
– Be able to be recharged fully in a very short amount of time.
Whoever comes up with a power source that checks all these boxes will not only make cyberware possible, but will also mark the start of a new Industrial/Tech Revolution.

Sandevistan, I mean you get extremely close to stop the time, fiscally talking it means you are around 80% of the speed of light (considering you are using the most powerful sandevistan of the game or you have David sandevistan), so basically the user body will be evaporated in less than a second and if you have an modified skin that can resist at this insanity your organs will start boiling because the insane heat causing brain death immediately.
And I’m ignoring all the impossible engineering behind something that small be capable of mess with the space without need the energy equivalent to feed an entire city for days.

I think it’s more likely that real science will develop artificial organs from genetically modified/improved human tissue rather than cybernetics and maybe find a way to modify certain organ’s structure and functionality or create new ones all together. Apart from the fact that replacement parts made from the recipients own tissue is far less likely to be rejected by their body than completely artificial implants, they also don’t come with extra disadvantages; For example imagine getting a replacement heart with a property working sinus node instead of getting an artificial pacemaker which is sensitive to electromagnetic fields.
