This is exactly why I downloaded the mod for tarkov called single player tarkov. It’s exactly what it sounds like and it’s amazingly fun
I love this game is one that is genuinely terrifying to play, I can’t count the times I was jumpscared by slavs and being shouted at, but the game is really good
But is it fun?

Basically League of Legends, lol. Me and my friends are all hardstuck Silver-Plat even after playing for like 10 years now
Yeah, I don’t pick up these online games for exactly this reason. Get screamed at for sucking in 30 seconds, that experience is still there many years later.
Hunt: Showdown. Highest highs and so, so many lows.
For me when I’m bad at a game when I die I record my gameplay with obs and try to see my mistakes, the biggest one for me is do not go out in the open and dont reveal yourself from too many angles, and yes I know that is quite hard in tarkov with the maps having lots of open spaces but still try

Dota players with 10k hours still in the tutorial
I put like 480 hours into DOTA 2 in college. That felt like a lot to me so I checked where my rank lined up with the curve and turns out I was in the 25th percentile. I never touched the game again after that.
I’ve never put 200+ hours into a game to still be a noob… except for csgo
I’ve loaded up the game probably a dozen times. Loaded in for three games in a row, die, then uninstall. It’s almost a ritual at this point.

I’m so glad I played tarkov before playing any other real extract shooter and was so fucking confused, used all my guns and didn’t know what to do and gave up.
At moments, it sounds fun, but overall I think I soared myself another 500 hour game.
Dota 2 players can relate.
Try Rocket League. You’ll suck forever, but somehow it’s still fun most of the time.
I played Apex Legends for the equivalent of 50 in-game days and I was still barely carrying a 1.5 KD ratio. I wanted so badly to get good, watched videos, etc., and it just didn’t happen.

I’m with you, almost 4k hours and I’m still really bad.
Hmm maybe GTA 5 online for me. Whenever I try to be toxic and blow up dudes with my oppressor, they end up blowing me to hell, that’s when I close the game usually.
As I got older and my eyesight started to go, it was a bitter pill for me to swallow. I used to love shooters, I still did decently well in Battlefield Bad Company 2, which was amazing. But by Battlefield 3, I noticed I just couldn’t quite keep up any more. So eventually I just had to more or less quit FPS games, at least competitive ones. I still play co-op, AI is usually a little more forgiving than teens chugging Red Bull or whatever they’re on these days. But good co-op focused games vs AI are few and far apart.

I feel ya 🫱🏻🫲🏼 I understand every tactic and strategy, I know how I should move and what to do in almost every situation in games, but I still can’t get higher than gold (valorant, paladins etc)
Played hundreds and hundreds of hours of competitive Civil 6 with my friends. I’m always on the losing side. I’m the anchor that drags a teammate to a loss.
The Finals. I don’t know what it is but in that game my aim is ASS. Must be in just bad a movement based shooters because I’m cheeks in Apex too
Gears of War. I love watching the game and wish I was better at it . But I just suck
Tarkov sucked me in for hundreds of hours and i STILL feel like it was all wasted years later. If you play Tarkov you cant play anything else if you want to get good at it, need to dedicate so much time to learn the maps the spawns the extracts player behavior on different maps like you will drown if you cant stay on it.

Tarkov is the only game to make me so mad I was on the verge of actually crying. I cannot play that game solo anymore I need a duo and all my friends hate it 🙁
to be fair tarkov is also rampant with cheaters, p sure it has the highest ratio of cheaters of any fps
