What what do you guys do at 120 hours in? I’ve done most of the gigs and ncpd stuff. What else is there to do?

A lot, probably. The issue is that sometimes the internet bitching is justified, and sometimes it’s just bitching, and it’s impossible to tell without trying yourself 😅

Sleeping Dogs.

To be fair at first it absolutely was horrible. It was legit unplayable the first couple months but I just bet the main story and all the side quests for the base game (only have gigs left to complete) and I loved it so much that I’m thinking of buying the dlc when it goes on sale.
Basic-Cloud6440
Most of the criticism on cp was due to the horrible state the game was released in and the broken promises by the devs/Shareholders. That wasnt bitching at all. The current State of the game Shows, that it couldve been amazing from the Start.
Regarding your question: although i dont like it for Personal reasons, but the last of us 2 is an exceptional Well Made game. Most of the people who dont like it just hate the fact that abby is jacked af and that ellie is a lesbian now, which is indeed bitching if you ask me.
And if im not wrong, ellie was a lesbian all along in part 1
DedicatedDetective34
The second Tomb Raider Trilogy, Fallout 4, Far Cry 5 + New Dawn, Bioshock Infinite, Tiny Tina Wonderlands, Atomic Heart, and Dead Island 2.
I know most of these didn’t receive very negative reviews, but they kinda just flew by like an afterthought. Also, “great” is very subjective. I loved playing these games, and I sometimes come back to DI2 when I want to smash zombies instead of Smasher.

Few things come to my mind.
DmC Devil may Cry is one of those games. People still get overly angry for just mentioning it. It’s still a great game. Story was good, characters had arcs and were well written, action was well done, pacing great, loved the music and it looked good as well. It was hated, because the devs made some gay cowboy jokes about old Dante. Now the old Dante is probably my favorite main character in video games, but people hold grudges that color their perception of the game forever.
For more recent ones, Diablo 4 is great, especially as coop. Yet some people rushed through it to play the end game that was lacking, then said it was bad. When everything before end game was actually pretty great. Side quests were good, exploring was fun, story was interesting and making your own builds was fun.
That’s a few I can think of right now.

None, I don’t pay attention to reviews. My favorite games are by Bethesda, State of Decay 2 and cyberpunk. All those are mixed reviews. So it’s apparent that I love games that most people give 3 stars to. Which means that other people are too different from my tastes to listen to reviews.
KotovChaos
I didn’t play it until after the “bitching” and I’m glad I didn’t. Too many people lie and act like it was perfectly playable on Reddit.
Mr_Faux_Regard
I honestly knew that there was enough in cyberpunk that would make the game fun when it came out. The problem is that I wasn’t paying full price for a game that was drowning in a sea of bugs so I waited until it was worth it. That’s really all that the complaints revolved around and they were valid because of it. I doubt many people actually thought that the game itself was fundamentally bad.
Niiphox
After 150h+ on cyberpunk I’ve only now realised how high of an expectation I’ve made for future story mode games.
I’ve now started playing spiderman miles morales, and it’s great it’s great, but doesn’t give the same feeling as cp2077 did

Really OP? Try playing the game in Ver 1.0 and come back here after 10 hours of that

Only examples I personally know are:
Assassins Creed Unity (coop assasin gameplay was a great concept and it feels like a natural evolution of the series + smoothest parkour + amazing visuals)
Battlefield V (maybe not as immersive as BF1, but still immersive enough + smoothest gameplay of the series + amazing visuals)
and several NFS games, like:
NFS MW2012 (wrong name, best multiplayer)
NFS The Run (too short + rushed by EA, no particular strengths, I just think it’s neat)
Posta_Hun
Sigh…another outdated meme.

Cyberpunk absolutely deserved the criticism at launch.
And it absolutely deserves the praise for its post launch.

Dying Light 2.
Guns have been added to the arsenal in the forms of variius rifles, shotguns and pistols, as well as exploding throwing knives and other weird cool weapons. there’s a player map creator now to make maps and play other people’s maps, lots of new fun and challenging side quests and dlc to integrate the firearms into the game seamlessly, it’s basically a new game, lots to do with friends on it now too if you have friends into open world survival zombie fps games.
It’s just so vast and there’s so much going on in it I can’t see why anyone would dislike the game in its current state. So much has been added. I understand the pushback from release as being a let down, however it’s truly twice the game it was at launch. I’m having a blast on my new playthrough. It’s a vastly different experience. Looking back on my first playthrough it seems like it was almost barebones at first nownits really onto something.
gabblur_007
Elden ring or any from soft game (I know there isn’t alot of bitching about it) but I’ve never really tried any from soft game until Elden ring

CP is decent content wise, tech wise is such a fucking mess. Envy those people that can play the game crash-free now.
Gaal_Anonim
I don’t think I remember much about various “eras of bitching” on the internet. CP77, No Man’s Sky and Fallout 76 were those games, but tbh, people had reasons to bitch about them. Me personally, I’ve started playing CP77 on PC a week after it released and I was already enamoured by it.
NMS and F76 though? Well, I’ve seen what those games were on release and sheesh xD Nowadays at the very least NMS is amazing, but F76 still didn’t keep me interested for longer when I tried it.
Cross_Pray
Only a few games really, usually the majority is in the right but there are few exceptions like Cyberpunk (which some may say it deserved for being undercooked with all those bugs at the start and so much overhype)
Kingdome Come Deliverance is another game that has been hyped to hell and when released was one hell of a buggy mess, only to be fixed years later and have a ton of DLCs added to it. Definetely check it out since it had basically a 1 to 1 situation as CD Red.
Undertale has a lot of bitching around at the start as well, mostly from the community being so obnoxious, the game itself is very much great and the fandom has calmed down, even if you watched a playthrough of it I highly reccomend actually playing it.
(TLOU2 is deservedly shit on though, there is no coming back for what they did to the story)
heyuhitsyaboi
COD Infinite Warfare had a PHENOMENAL campaign!!!
alsp in terms of COD, Ghosts and WWII were skipped by a lot of people and are also amazing.
Animusynthetika
IMO – it was tribalism at it’s finest.
Mix that with YouTubers compiling buggy footage from various platforms, from every person posting them online (*as we do when we make a meme out of something*) and of course it’ll look bad and convince their audience. You can still see people using PS4 ‘Befores’ and Raytraced PC ‘Afters’ as thumbnails.
That isn’t to dismiss SOME of the issues, I can get behind some of them. So I am not dismissing it ALL.
—
But I make mods for 2077. Have played since launch (2000+ hours) and can count on one hand how many times it was “unplayable” (and those were no different than some I have seen in plenty of other titles – some I bet I don’t even have to name).
I can’t speak for the “hype” or the “didn’t get what they promised either” as I got pretty much what I expected and then some. Maybe Im biased because I grew up playing it? Idk.
—
It wasn’t on the devs. It was on the gonks that forced them to release it in ways that was meant to make them the most money. On outdated platforms and too soon.
